Memory of Russia: 4 Russian cities were given charters of the “The City of Military Glory” by Russian President

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev presented the heads of Kovrov, Lomonosov, Taganrog and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky with the charters conferring the honorary title of “The City of Military Glory."

The honorary titles have been awarded for courage, strength and mass heroism of the cities’ defenders in the struggle for freedom and independence of the Fatherland. The President signed relevant decrees November 4, 2011.

To date, 37 Russian cities and towns are the holders of the military glory title.

Presenting the charters, the President noted that Russia is a big country and all its cities are different, but they are united by "courage, fortitude, patriotism, which rallied their people for centuries."
