Memorable dates of Russia: “The True Sons of Russia” Exhibition in honor of the 200th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812 takes place in Moscow

February 22 to March 25, 2012 in the context of the Year of Russian History, the State Central Museum of Modern Russian History (Moscow), houses "The True Sons of Russia" exhibition, devoted to the 200th anniversary of victory in the Patriotic War of 1812.

The exhibition features memorial items revealing the military history of Russia and France of the first third of the 19th century: banners, awards, uniforms and weapons of war veterans (uniform of the Preobrazhensky Guards, Hussars, Kiev, Dragoon regiments and Field Engineer battalion). Among the exhibits are the sculptures of Napoleon (A.-L. Bari), of Alexander I (G. D. Rashett), paintings and engravings of the artist D. Dow, a series of engravings of A. I. Mamonov.

Visitors can see the maps of the Patriotic War time, rare book editions, bound by General A. P. Yermolov from his personal library, as well as unique caricatures by G. Opitz, I. I. Terebenev telling about the Foreign campaign of 1813-1814.

The exhibitors include: the Military-Historical Cultural Preserve of Borodino, the Department of Written Sources and Rare Books of the Science Library of the M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Gosfilmofond, the Joint Military-Historical Organization of the Moscow Region "Guards Brigade", the Moscow collectors such as S. and T. Podstanitsky, K. V. Zhuromsky, "Silver Row" antique shop and others.
