Russian culture abroad: Russian Culture Festival to open in Dublin

In the Irish capital, Dublin, February 20, 2012 begins the annual week-long festival of Russian culture.

The festival opens with an exhibition of children's drawings and an exposition of paintings by Russian-speaking artists living in Ireland. February 21will take place "The Year in Russia: Experience of the Irish Student” discussion, "What do we know about Russia" quiz for students of Irish secondary schools, as well as a lecture delivered by the Head of the European Studies Department of the Political Science School, the Professor Derek Hutcheson University College, Dublin .

In one of the oldest schools of Ireland, the Trinity College, will be held the readings of Russian literature, public lectures and "round tables", which are open to all. Also, five Russian films will be demonstrated as part of the Dublin International Film Festival.

February 25, in the context of the festival, will take place the Forum of Russian compatriots in Ireland, during which representatives of public organizations and associations, as well as of the Russian Embassy will identify priorities and develop a plan of operation of the Compatriots Coordinating Council for 2012-2013.
