10 February 2012

9 February, 2012 the State Historical Museum (Moscow) opened a “Bronze Age” new exposition and presented a “Kolikho” unique dolmen marking the 140th anniversary of its establishment.

The updated exhibition features archaeological finds from the Borodino and Galich treasures, as well as a unique monument of dolmens culture, built around 4, 000 years ago. It was discovered in 2008 in the riverbed of Kolikho, the Krasnodar region, and studied by scientists from St. Petersburg Institute of History of Material Culture, Russian Academy of Sciences. In the 2nd millennium BC, the dolmen was used as a family tomb, and then was covered under a heavy landslide.
