IT and Education: All schools of Moscow move to digital school record books and class registers next year
By September 1st 2012 all schools of Moscow will move to digital school record books and class registers, the press release of the Information Technologies Department of Moscow reads.
Technical re-equipment of schools is stipulated by the city state program “Information city (2012-2016)”. It aims to increase the time with involvement of modern communications means up to 50%.
In the first quarter of 2012 the equipment will be supplied to 25 500 pupils of the primary school and about 1 500 teachers.
“Mass computerization will continue in the secondary school as well – computer science classes will be equipped with modern Acer monoblocks (9000 in total). Schools will also get over 8 500 interactive boards. Along with this, like a year ago, the focus will be made on provision of laptops to subject teachers. This year 20 000 teachers will receive computers which will promote faster transition to digital school record books and class registers, - the Information Technologies Department of Moscow informs.
The experiment with establishment of information environment at schools was launched in September 2011 after the adoption of a new federal state education standard.
At the moment the system is undergoing testing at 46 educational institutions. What is more, other 200 schools have started introduction of the universal electronic card that would enable to enter the educational institution and have meal.
