Memorable dates of Russia: Electronic book on the Patriotic War of 1812 shown off in Kursk

Kursk Local Lore Museum has launched a presentation of an electronic book entitled “Kursk Governorate and the Patriotic War of 1812”. It turns the reader’s attention on the involvement of this region in events of the war against Napoleon.

According to Irina Trubinova, senior research fellow of the museum’s historical department, the book brings together the materials of Kursk regional historians from different centuries. The book was prepared to coincide with the 200th victory anniversary.

The electronic book features images of prints, paintings, commemorative medals, anniversary coins, postcards. There are also images of architectural and sculptural artworks in commemoration of the war of 1812 and materials on 100th anniversary celebration in Kursk Governorate.
