World culture: “Antique city in architects’ works” exhibit in St. Petersburg

On March 12th 2012 the National Library of Russia, New Building (St. Petersburg) is launching an exhibition entitled “Antique city in architects’ works”.

The exhibition showcases works of both future architects of St. Petersburg and those who have truly established themselves as architects. These are academic and research projects made by students of the Faculty of Architecture at St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, along with creative works of lecturers of two departments – the Department of History and Theory of Architecture and the Department of Drawing. Visitors can discover tens of works completed in various artistic techniques, including computer animation. The works present cities of antique world – Miletus and Priene in Anatolia, Chersonesus Taurica on the shore of the Black Sea, Akhetaton in Egypt.

The exhibition will run till April 7th.
