Museums of Russia: Arms Museums opened in Tula

The grand opening of a new Tula Museum of Arms, built in the form of a knight’s helmet, took place March 3, 2012. The opening ceremony and the launch of a new museum’s collection was timed to the 300th anniversary of the foundation of the Tula arms factory and the beginning of the state weapons’ production in Tula.

The new complex will host exhibits on the area six times greater than the former, and will be accommodated not only for storage and display, but also for educational and cultural work. In particular, it will also host a library, two conference rooms. The grounds of the new museum will house the unique products, released in the Tula defense enterprises within three centuries, including advanced weapons.
