
History and culture: Exhibition devoted to Feodorovsky area in Tsarskoye Selo
April 27, 2012 at the Museum-Institute of the Roerich family (St. Petersburg), opened the exhibition "The Gates of the Russian style," devoted to the Feodorovsky area in Tsarskoye Selo.
The unique architectural ensemble - "Russian town" in Tsarskoye Selo, was built in the early 20th century as a museum of ancient architecture in the open.
Successors of "The Society of the Artistic Russia Revival" - the head of the studio of church painting under the Russian Academy of Arts, A. K. Krylov and his students – have implemented the initiative of copying the crumbling frescoes the Feodorovsky area. The exhibition displays these works. Also on display are archaeological objects and elements of architectural decoration of the buildings found during researches in the Feodorovsky area.
