The Presidential Library: Annual Report 2011

The Annual report on all areas of activity of the library in 2011 has been posted on the Presidential library’s portal.

The book retains the structure adopted in preparing the report for 2010.
The edition is preceded by welcoming remarks of the Head of the Presidential Property Management Department of the Russian Federation, Vladimir I. Kozhin and Doctor of Law, professor, Director General of the Presidential Library, A. P. Vershinin.

The "Information Technology" section tells about an upgrading of the operation features of the existing information systems and software hardware complexes made in 2011, as well as the development of information technology platform and the integration of new prospective elements in it. Features of enrichment of the Presidential Library’s electronic holdings with digital copies of books, archival documents, multimedia materials based on the integration of information resources from different sources is reflected in the "Information Resources" section.

The "Information services" section presents such important areas of the library’s activity as the operation of the Electronic Reading Room and the Multimedia Portal, as well as the provision of remote access to its information resources in universities and universal libraries of the regions of the Russian Federation.

A special section is devoted to the main areas of information and analytical, scientific, library and educational activities of the library, including publishing, organization of tours and exhibitions, preparation and holding of scientific conferences and forums.

The "Cooperation" section covers expanding the interaction of the Presidential Library with federal, state and local government, including national and industry-leading libraries of the country, as well as the international activities of the library (membership in the world's leading professional organizations, cooperation with foreign libraries and archival institutions, creation of remote access points to information resources of the library in foreign countries).
