Archives of Russia: “Pyotr A. Stolypin and His Reforms” Historical & Documentary Exhibition at the Russian State Historical Archives

April 11, 2012, the Federal Exhibition Hall of the Russian State Historical Archive (St. Petersburg) opens Historical-Documentary Exhibition "Pyotr Stolypin and His Reforms."

The decision to hold the exhibition "Pyotr Stolypin and His Reforms" was adopted by the Organizing Committee for preparation and celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Russian statesman, P. A. Stolypin, chaired by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

The exhibition features for the first time unique archival documents and museum exhibits related to the life and work of Stolypin, his family, the main stages of his career. Of particular interest are papers on the last days of the prime minister, his murder and the investigation into the circumstances of his death, reactions to the death of Stolypin.

Given the importance of the state service of P. A. Stolypin, a large part of the exhibition is devoted to his reforms: development and implementation of agrarian reform and the reform of human rights and freedoms of citizens, development of local government reform, the reform of public education.

The exhibition will run until June 15, 2012.
