Memorable dates of Russia: “From Rus’ to Russia” Exhibition timed to the 1150th anniversary of Russian statehood is held in Voronezh
The I. S. Nikitin Regional Universal Scientific Library of Voronezh opened the exhibition "From Rus’ to Russia", timed to the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of Russian statehood.
The exhibition features new books of the last decade, including many great serials, and papers first published in the original form and researches never conducted before.
"The Great Encyclopedia of the Russian people", providing basic information about the Russian civilization, tells about the spiritual, moral and religious life of the Russian people, its shrines, customs, traditions, well-established concepts, state and social terms, from the earliest times to the present day
Many will be interested by a series of "Russian Legal Heritage" (100 volumes) - a treasure of ideas and concepts, legal terms and concepts worked out by Russian jurists of the past centuries. Much of this series contains the full texts of the most important legislative acts of Russian rulers and prominent public figures.
"The Russian Archives" almanac (series "History of the Fatherland in the Testimonies and Documents of the 18th – 20th centuries") is devoted to the history of the Russian state. It features previously unpublished historical materials (diaries, memoirs, letters, etc.) held by the domestic and foreign archives. All documents are published without exception.
The following editions on the history of ancient and medieval Russia are noteworthy: the fundamental book series "Complete Collection of Russian Chronicles" (135 books), the work on which began in the 1830s and is still far from complete; and a series of books "Russian Library" which includes the works of renowned local historians on topical issues of historical science.
For the first time the series "History of Russia and the Romanov Dynasty in the memoirs of contemporaries. 17th – 20th centuries" includes texts of notes, diaries, memoirs, letters, which have become bibliographic rarity, and never published papers and manuscripts of direct participants and witnesses of all significant events that happened during the three centuries of Romanovs’ rule. Fourteen volumes of twenty have been published.
"The Russian national symbols," "Ancient Russia. Cities-States," "Russian princes, tsars, emperors," "Key events in the history of the Russian state," "Russian chronicles of the twentieth century", "Public and Political figures of our time" sections form a complete picture of the formation and development of Russian statehood in historical retrospective.
