History of Russia: Unique book exhibits displayed in Vladimir at the expositions covering the Russian history

April 9, 2012 the Gorky Regional Scientific Library of Vladimir opened two exhibitions on the history of Russia.

"Let's look for a prince to govern us and judge rightly" - an exhibition devoted to the 1150th anniversary of the birth of Russian statehood.

The exhibition includes books and monographs, telling about the rulers of Russia from Rurik and Romanovs to the general secretaries of the CPSU and the Presidents of the USSR and the Russian Federation; about the times and the results of their rule oveer the country; the works of local and foreign historians. There are featured some Russian legislative acts - from the "Pravda of Yaroslav' to the modern Constitution; encyclopedic and illustrative material about the state symbols, the two Russian capitals, the revolutionary upheavals and victories in two world wars, as well as video and audio material: biographical, artistic, musical works on the historical themes.

The second exhibition is a local history part of the overall exhibition, devoted to the 1150th anniversary of the birth of Russian statehood. It treats with the great state reformer Mikhail Speransky.

The exhibition displays the works by M. M. Speransky, copies of his portraits, a book about the life and activities, articles from scientific journals, periodicals, local history researches.
