Information technology and security: Online project for virtual environment security launched
"Kaspersky Lab" is to announce the launch of a special online project intended for security of virtual environments. Portal http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/beready provides access to exclusive information materials revealing actual threats to the virtual environment and the ways to ensure its protection.
Virtualization has become a worldwide trend. But if the benefits of this technology are already widely known, the risks associated with its implementation, are yet evident to few: the majority trusts the popular myth of the greater security of virtual machines over physical computers. The practice proves the contrary: virtual environment is exposed to most traditional cyber threats. At the same time, the pace of development of malware continues to grow rapidly: every day "Kaspersky Lab" registers 70,000 new threats, and every 14th file downloaded from the Internet is infected.
Portal http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/beready is designed to help companies better understand the issue of security of virtual environment and the ways to protect it, one of which is the Kaspersky Security for Virtualization - a new solution of "Kaspersky Lab", to be officially launched in April 2012.
The content of the portal will be enriched for several months, during which the users will be offered the most recent analyses, studies, articles and reports, introducing the technology of protection for virtual environments. Part of the data, which are exclusive, will be available upon a quick and simple registration.
