The Presidential Library specialists hold a seminar on methodology and practice of digital content development in Magadan

16-18 May 2012, in the premises of the Pushkin Regional Universal Scientific Library of Magadan, the Presidential Library specialists held a three-day seminar on "Methodology and Practice of Development of Digital Content of the Presidential Library."

The seminar was attended by 26 experts from the Magadan Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Centralized Library System of Magadan, the Northeastern State University, the State Archives of the Magadan Region and the Magadan Regional Local History Museum.

The seminar discussed the integration of digital resources on the history and theory of Russian statehood, structuring resources by the principle of collections and their representation by means of the portal of the Presidential Library, creation of bibliographic records for traditional and electronic resources in RUSMARC format. The greatest attention was paid to the interaction of the Presidential Library and the regions in the formation of digital content, criteria of resources selection and particularities of cataloging of certain types of electronic documents. There were also held practical training on the methods of cataloging and individual consultations for the specialists of the regional library, the archive and the museum.
