In honor of its 75th anniversary the Vladimir Mayakovsky State Museum opened an exhibition of graphic works by Russian vanguard artists. The exhibition was launched at the "Kovcheg" gallery and is available to the public from May 18, 2012.

The core of the exposition is the museum's graphical collection - 140 works by prominent national artists, performed in different styles and directions. These are drawings, watercolors, illustrations, collages, lithographs. Among the authors are Vassily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, Peter Miturich, Nikolai Tyrsa and many others.

According to organizers, the review is intended to not only describe in detail the figure of the famous Russian poet, but also his acquaintances, relatives and associates, his travels and cultural environment of 1910-1930's. "One of the aims of the exhibition - to convey the atmosphere of the era when Mayakovsky lived and worked," they said.

Also featured are images of Mayakovsky himself, illustrations for his plays and poems, portraits of contemporaries, works of easel paintings - portraits, still lives.
