World culture: Exhibition of works of the Russian artist Valery Kharitonov in Vatican

Exhibition of works by the famous Russian artist Valery Kharitonov titled “To Your Name” opens on May 14, 2012 in one of the Vatican palaces – Palazzo della Cancelleria.

The exposition is devoted to the community of Christian roots of the common European culture. The project has been prepared for several years by Moscow Interfaith Cultural Centre “The Pokrovskiye Gates” in collaboration with the Pontifical Council on Culture. 

Back in 2005 the current Patriarch of all Russia and then Metropolitan Kirill supported the idea of the exhibition.

The exhibition, organized with the support of the Russian Embassy in Vatican, will take visitors till the end of May. Then V. Kharitonov’s pictures for a few weeks will be placed in the halls of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Rome.
