On May 12, 2012 the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) once again hosts the sensational exhibition "Samurai. Art of War”. This unique museum project is presented in an updated format, with new exhibits, efficient use of 3D-technology, recreated panoramas of the great battles and video installations.

In addition to a rich collection of weapons, armor, clothing and household items of feudal Japan, it features a panorama of the "Battle of Sekigahara" - restored in every detail grandiose battle of 1600, which had brought together more than 170,000 soldiers.

The exhibition occupies over 1,000 square meters. It is divided into thematic areas, allowing guests to literally follow the "Way of the Warrior" and live through all the stages of life of a samurai. Visitors can easily move from a medieval castle to a Shogun’s headquarters or a Buddhist temple, walk around the urban areas of Kyoto and stay in the house of a noble samurai.

Especially for the "Samurai. Art of War» the organizers have developed solutions that allow you to not just see the panorama of the battle with the original weapons and armor, but also be in the middle of the action thanks to video installations. Visitors are also offered 3D-films about the history of the legendary Japanese katana and armor and see "The Commandments of Samurai" and "Legends on the Metal" video installations. Visitors can also get acquainted with the works of art and objects of everyday life of samurai: prints, beautiful scrolls, screens, bronze, clothing, books, accessories, etc.
