Memory of Russia: Agitation posters of the Great Patriotic War displayed in Izhevsk

April 28, 2012 the Kalashnikov State Technical University of Izhevsk opened "The Motherland is Calling!" and "Where does the homeland start from?" exhibitions devoted to The Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The first exhibition features the posters of the Great Patriotic War, the awards and medals (copies) for the participation in hostilities, and on the labor front; commemorative medals awarded to veterans; memorial table coins and medals on the subject of war, as well as documents of the war time. Part of the exhibits for the exhibition has been provided by weapons’ museum of the "Izhmash" factory.

Among the authors of the displayed posters are renowned masters of the time: I. Toidze (his famous poster "Motherland is Calling!" has become the symbol of the exhibition), V. Koretsky, V. Ivanov, A. Kokorekin, Kukryniksy (Kupriyanov, Nikolaev, Sokolov). (According to the materials from the Advertising & Design Department).

The second exhibition, "Where does the homeland start from?" has been organized by students in accordance with the results of the competition, held at the Economics, Law and Humanities Department. The jury was estimating student essays on the Great Patriotic War, more than 80 photographs and other creative works. The best works have been selected for the exhibition.
