Exhibitions: Museum Reserve “Kolomenskoye” opened an exhibition “Time of Empire”

June 28, 2012 at the Moscow united Museum Reserve, in the Palace Hall of 1825, was held the opening of the exhibition “Time of Empire”. The exhibition features over 100 rare exhibits relating to the magnificent reign of Napoleon and Alexander I: furniture, items of palace interior, sculptures, portraits and graphics. All these works are of the same style of the beginning of XIX century - the Empire, also called by art critics “imperial style”, which had developed mostly in France and Russia.

The exhibition presents not only works from the collections of the Moscow Museum Reserve, but also rare exhibits from the largest private collections of the National Pushkin Museum and Museum Reserve “Gorki”. Some of the items have never been exhibited before.
