Memory of Russia: Conference "The year of 1812. Napoleonic Wars and their consequences for Russia and Austria, the formation of a new Europe "in Vienna

June 26, 2012 the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Vienna hosts the international conference “The year of 1812. Napoleonic Wars and their consequences for Russia and Austria, the formation of a new Europe”.

In the framework of the conference, the RCSC will open a documentary exhibition of the State Historical Museum “The War of 1812 in the monuments of the State Historical Museum” as well as a documentary exhibition “The War of 1812 and foreign campaigns of the Russian Army in 1813-1814”. (Based on the Foreign Policy Archive of the Russian Empire), which reflect the history of the victory of Russian arms.

The event is organized in accordance with the decree of the President and the Government Decree on the preparation and celebration of the 200th anniversary of Russia's victory in the war of 1812. The first stage of the Rossotrudnichestvo’s thematic program was held in 2011 in 10 countries. The International Conference in Austria opens a cycle of commemorative events in 12 countries, including Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, and France.
