Memory of Russia abroad: Monument to Victory opened in Israel

June 26, in Israel, Netanya, was held the grand opening of the Monument to the Red Army's victory over Nazi Germany.

The opening ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli President Shimon Peres. The veterans who fought in the Great Patriotic War were the main guests of the celebration. The idea of the monument is the struggle between light and darkness. The project has been realized by Russian sculptors and architects, headed by the Honored Artist of Russia, Salavat Scherbakov. The work of this creative team took the first place in the competition of more than 70 other projects.
