The State Military-Historical and Natural Museum-Reserve “Kulikovo field” holds scientific and practical works to restore in the historical boundaries of the 14th century the forest and grassland areas of the Kulikovo Field where Russian troops fought against the Golden Horde. The project is unique and has no analogues not only in Russia but also in the world's scientific practice.

The reconstruction of the natural environment of the Kulikovo Field the way it was during the battle allows to discover new details related to the circumstances of the battle, as well as to conduct landscape and rehabilitation works, taking into account all available information.

The restored landscape in all its glory will appear from the observation deck of a new modern museum complex, which will be raised near the village of Mokhovoye, Kurkinsky district, the Tula Region in 2014-2015.

The first stone of the new museum complex has already been laid. In addition to two main buildings the complex will comprise a recreation area for visitors including an observation deck, souvenir shops, guest houses and other objects.

The designers had been given a very difficult task - to combine modern architectural trends with traditions in one museum complex, not upsetting the harmony of the landscape; to create a project attractive to tourists and appropriate for such a significant historical event.

In the halls of the future complex “Remarkable site “Kulikovo Field”, will be unfolded an exhibition under the tentative title “Zadonshchina. New interpretation”. It will be a completely different approach to presentation of the history of the Battle of Kulikovo.
