Information technology and culture: International conference “Cultural Heritage and Information Technology” in Petrozavodsk

18-22 June 2012 in Petrozavodsk is held the XVI Annual International Scientific Conference ADIT 2012 “Cultural Heritage and Information Technology”.

Conferences ADIT (Automation Directions in Museums and Information Technologies), conducted since 1997 in different regions – are one of the key All-Russian activities to promote information technology in museums and other cultural institutions.

In 2012, the conference is held in the Republic of Karelia, its focal point is a Museum Reserve "Kizhi".

The objectives of the conference:

- The exchange of experience in the field of Informatization of the museum business, the discussion of issues concerning the preservation and interpretation of cultural heritage using digital technology.

- The increase of the competence of cultural workers.

- The development of modern, interactive museum activities to draw attention to the historical and cultural heritage.
