World history: Exhibition “Nomads of Eurasia on the way to the Empire” in Kazan

June 18, 2012 at the Center "Hermitage-Kazan" "Nomads of Eurasia on the way to the Empire" exhibition is opened, which represents 2190 exhibits from the State Hermitage collection, covering the period from the beginning of I millennium B.C. till the emerging of the Great Mongolian Empire in the XIII century. The exposition is set in the chronological order and acquaints visitors with the features of the culture of the nomadic peoples of the Eurasian continent by the items from archaeological excavations, as well as gatherings of collectors of late XIX - early XX centuries.

A number of subjects are involved in the museum’s show for the first time. These include findings from the burial ground Aymyrlyg (Tuva, 1960, 1970 years) and Kichmalka (Central Caucasus Hermitage archaeological expedition, 2010).

"Nomads of Eurasia on the way to the Empire" exposition is designed to demonstrate, on the one hand, the richness and diversity of culture in its development of nomads on the vast territory and on the other - to show possibilities and importance of archeology.
