
History of Russia: IV International Congress of Peter’s cities “Capitals and the Province. In honor of the 300th anniversary of transfer of the capital to St. Petersburg”
June 9, 2012, St. Petersburg celebrates the birthday anniversary of the first Russian Emperor, Peter the Great.
The city will hold a citywide campaign of laying flowers to the monuments of Peter. At the same time eight ceremonies will be held. The right to fire the midday shot from the Peter and Paul Fortress will be given to members of Peter’ Cities Congress.
IV International Congress of Peter’s Cities “Capitals and the Province. In honor of the 300th anniversary of transfer of the capital to St. Petersburg" is taking place June 9, 2012 in the Peter and Paul Fortress.
The program of the Congress includes the following breakup sessions:
Session 1. Capitals and Residences in Russia and Europe.
Session 2. Moscow and St. Petersburg - traditions of contrasting.
Session 3. Two-way invluence of the capitals and the province.
Session 4. Northern capital - the foundation and development.
Session 5. The Russian capitals in historical sources.
