
Internet and society: Bing search engine replies to queries to include information from Britannica online encyclopedia
Internet search engine Bing by Microsoft will add to its responses to users’ queries information from Britannica online encyclopedia, said the Microsoft report.
The online search engine Bing was launched by Microsoft in June 2009 and it was one of the first to add a function to provide direct answers to search queries.
Such direct responses, based on data from the online Encyclopedia Britannica, will be available to users of Bing as a result of agreement between the companies of a partnership agreement.
Responses from the encyclopedia will provide a quick overview of the search item in the case of relevance - a small picture, as well as useful facts and figures that will aloe to learn basic information about an object without the need for a detailed view of different web pages.
Each answer has links to relevant material, not only in the Britannica, but also in encyclopedias of Wikipedia, Freebase and Qwiki. At the same time, the search engine will keep the usual results of extradition based on keywords query.
