World museums: Museum of Hanseatic to be formed in Lübeck

In Lübeck (Germany) is formed the Museum of Hanseatic, says the press centre of the Administration of Novgorod the Great.

For the future of the Museum, which is known to be the headquarters of the Hanseatic League, is selected a ground in the historical part of the city, where in accordance with the rules of urban planning are implemented archaeological researches, and currently are deployed general works on construction of a new building. In accordance with a conception there will be formed 4 expositions in it, devoted to Lübeck, as well as to London, Bruges, Bergen and Novgorod where representation offices (bureaus) of the Medieval Hanseatic League were situated.

At the same time with the construction of the building is held a large academic and research work on the selection of materials and exhibits for the museum. It is possible that organizers will appeal to cities of modern Hanseatic League to provide temporary or permanent use of the archives, exhibits or their copies, which illustrate activities and system of relations of Medieval Hanseatic League.

The opening of the museum will take place in 2014 in Lübeck when the 34th International Hanseatic Days will be held. However, the year before organizers intended to hold a series of presentations of the project in London, Bruges, Bergen and Novgorod the Great.
