Memorable dates of Russia: “Live Monument to Victory” exhibition devoted to the 200th anniversary of victory in the Patriotic War of 1812, in Novgorod

June 7, 2012 the State Museum of Art Culture of the Novgorod Land (Veliky Novgorod) is hosting the "Live Monument to Victory" exhibition.

The exhibition is timed to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Russia's victory in the Patriotic war of 1812 and is devoted to the history of the Life Guards Dragoon Regiment, quartered in the Novgorod land in 1814-1902.

The exhibition features the materials on the history of the regiment, various aspects of regimental life, portraits of the emperors, generals, heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812 and foreign campaigns of the Russian Army in 1813 - 1814. These are photocopies of documents, paintings, vintage photographs from Russian archives, museums and private collections. Partners of the exhibition are the State Russian Museum, the State Museum-Preserve "Tsarskoye Selo", the Novgorod State United Museum-Reserve.
