Book publishing and book distribution: Russia is a guest of honor of BookExpo America - 2012

This year, Russia is for the first time the guest of honor at the BookExpo America - 2012 (BEA-2012), which takes place in New York from 4 to 7 June 2012.

BookExpo America has traditionally been a venue for broad expert discussions and intense training program with the participation of publishers, literary agents, librarians, book distributors, as well as all those involved in the digital book.

At the will be discussed, in particular, such topics as the protection of copyright in the digital age, creating a new publishing business models, change of the role of publisher and literary agent on the way of a book from author to reader, the use of social networks on online resources to promote and sale books, creating a global "book" online community, new media formats on the market of literature for children and youth, the use of new information technologies and expansion of offers made by publishers to libraries, new opportunities for librarians to work with readers, and much more.

In addition to the general program, the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications, in cooperation with the Russian Book Union organizes a professional Russian-American program.
