World history: Exhibition “Olympic Journey: The Story of the Games” opened in London

Exhibition of histories of success of greatest Olympians of modernity, timed to the Summer Olympics in London, opened on July 28, 2012 in the Royal Opera House “Covent-Garden”.

Free to the public exhibition is called "Olympic Journey: The Story of the Games" and it is a part of the commemoration to the Games of the Cultural Festival London 2012 Festival. It is based on the unique items of Olympic Museum in Lausanne and is designed to tell you about the history of ancient and modern Olympics and their sixteen heroes from around the world.

"Stories of athletes are told through interviews, historical footage of newsreels, photographs and artifacts. Each story is a human virtue, the desire for adventure, determination, hard work and achievements, demonstrating the value of the Olympic movement: respect, excellence and friendship", - note the curators of the exhibition.

The exhibition runs till the end of the Olympics – till August, 12.
