The monument to Alexander Chechensky, hero of the Patriotic War of 1812, opened in the Pskov region on July 27, 2012.

The erection of the monument began in the end of June. At the four-meter monolithic reinforced concrete stele, lined with polished granite, is placed a bas-relief of Alexander Chechensky and his golden sword.

Alexander Chechensky is a hero of the Patriotic War of 1812. At the Cathedral of the Christ the Savior, erected during the reign of Alexander III to commemorate the salvation of the Fatherland in 1812, on the wall number 16 among the names of the other characters was engraved the name of the captain, A. N. Chechen, as the one who was awarded the Order of Saint George of IV degree.

Alexander the Chechen was distinguished in Persian, Caucasian, French and Finnish campaigns. The Patriotic War of 1812 was held from the 1st Bug Cossack regiment. For bravery he was awarded by the golden weapons. January 1, 1816 he was appointed to command the Lithuanian Uhlan Regiment. August 20, 1822 he was promoted a title of the major-general of the cavalry.
