Museums of Russia: This year’s Public Museum Forum to be held in Yekaterinburg

This year’s VII Public Museum Forum will be held in Yekaterinburg on September 24-29, 2012. Its main event will be the open examination of museum projects created over the past few years.

Museum projects implemented from 2004 to 2010 are invited to take part in this event. At the end of the contest a catalog of all the projects-nominees in Russian and English languages will be issued, and the museum project, recognized as the best one, will have opportunity to be presented at the annual festival «The Best in Heritage» in Croatia, in Dubrovnik on September 2013. More than 10 years «The Best in Heritage» assembles’ winners of the contests in the field of heritage conservation from every continent, bringing the national winners at the international level.

Before, the Public Museum Forum was held in the Arseniev Seaside State Museum, the Nature Museum of Buryatia, the Museum-Estate "Yasnaya Polyana", the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center, the Sholokhov Museum Reserve and others.

In 2012, the Forum is taken by museums of Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region in partnership with the II Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art.
