Presidential Library: New acquisitions

The Presidential Library continues to publish on its web site the materials delivered by the National Library of the Buryat Republic.

Featured official documents, legislative materials, researches and essays mainly reveal the social and political development of Buryatia in different historical periods.

The Soviet age is represented by shorthand reports of the First (Ulan-Ude, 1938), Fourth (Ulan-Ude, 1940), and Fifth (Ulan-Ude, 1941) sessions of the Supreme Soviet of the Buryat ASSR of the first convocation; by The Statute of elections to the Supreme Soviet of the Buryat-Mongolia ASSR (Ulan-Ude, 1938); by The Statute of elections to aimag, municipal, district, banner, sumon, village Soviets of deputies of workers of the Buryat-Mongolia ASSR (Ulan-Ude, 1939); by the Instruction on elections to the Soviets and on congresses of the Soviets of the RSFSR (Verkhneudinsk, 1930); as well as by an essay of M. N. Yerbanov, Creation of the Red Buryatia (Verkhneudinsk, 1925) telling about the formation of the Buryat Republic, the way it looked like by the mid 1920s as an autonomous state unit, what goals were set by the government for its future development.

The modern period is represented by the works whose full text is available at the electronic reading room of the Presidential Library.

The monograph by I. A. Butayev and E. D. Dagbayev, Russian federalism in the post-Soviet period (Ulan-Ude, 2009) considers the issues of relationship between the Center and the regions for about almost two decades of the post-Soviet period, analyses the ways of federalism in Russia.

The collection of works compiled by the Election Committee of the Buryat Republic, Elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, fifth convocation. Republic of Buryatia. 2007 includes legislative materials on the voting right and electoral statistics on the elections to Duma in 2077 in the territory of Buryatia (Ulan-Ude, 2008).

The collection of works, Organizational and legal bases for participation of political parties in municipal elections 2008 (Ulan-Ude, 2008) reveals the materials of the seminar of the same name attended by representatives of regional branches of political parties.

Representative authority of the Tunkinsky District (Ulan-Ude, 2010) is the first edition devoted to the district Council of deputies of the Tunkinsky District of the fourth convocation and represents a report on the activity of the standing committees and district deputies.

The third issue of The gold fund. Women of Siberia by E. Kichigina (Ulan-Ude, 2009) presents the essays telling about famous and successful women of the Siberian region – social workers and stateswomen, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, doctors, scholars, teachers, workers, entrepreneurs, cultural workers, art workers and sportswomen.
