
History of Russia: “Godlike Princess” Exhibition in honor of the anniversary of Catherine’s II reign held in St. Petersburg
The Derzhavin Museum-estate (St. Petersburg) opened a new exhibition "Godlike Princess", dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the accession of Catherine II to the throne.
The halls of the Derzhavin Museum-Estate feature paintings, prints, memorabilia from the collections of the National Pushkin Museum, the State Museum-Reserve "Tsarskoe Selo", the State Museum-Reserve "Peterhof", the State Literary Museum, the Russian State Historical Archive, the National Library of Russia, the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Among the unique exhibits - letters of the Empress Elizabeth, portraits of Peter I, Catherine II, Frederick the Great, Voltaire; portraits of the participants in the coup of June 1762: Alexei and Grigory Orlov, Princess Dashkova, Count Cyril Razumovsky, Grigori Potemkin, a handwritten note by the Empress Catherine II, a chair, a briefcase and inkstand of G. R. Derzhavin, snuff boxes, edged weapon, uniform of Colonel of the Life Guards Regiment – uniform dress of Catherine II.
