Memory of Russia: “No wonder remembers the whole Russia…” Festival devoted to the 200th anniversary of victory in the Patriotic War of 1812 held in the Leningrad Region

July 14, 2012 the village of Merevo, Luga district - the family estate of Major General Dmitry Lyalin, heroic veteran of the Patriotic War of 1812 – is hosting a festival, "No wonder remembers the whole Russia…", devoted to the 200th anniversary of the war and the victory of Russian troops.

The camps of Russian (Kutuzov) troops and French (Napoleonic) troops will be recreated. Public will witness the scenes of military life, including the famous Battle of Borodino.

Reconstruction of the "Battle on the Bridge over the River Koloch" - an episode of the Borodino Battle – will be demonstrated by the members of historical clubs in the uniforms of infantry, artillery and cavalry of the Russian and French armies.

One will see how really looked and fought the representatives of the Russian army: infantry, Guards, St. Petersburg Grenadier Regiment, Artillery, the Guards Artillery Brigade, Cavalry. Public will also have an opportunity to evaluate the fighting of the French Army: the infantry, the 46th line regiment, the gendarmerie regiment, artillery, cavalry.
