
Russian culture abroad: Russian center opened in Nikolayev
July 10, 2012 the opening of the Russian Center was held at the Russian Academic Art Drama Theatre of Nikolayev (Ukraine).
The opening center was the ninth in Ukraine and the first Russian center in the world, housed by the theatre. Thus, there is a unique opportunity to use one of the best Russian theatres of the region for future development of the Russian language, propaganda of the Russian culture, holding of various festivals, concerts and literary evenings.
The access to the Russian Center will be open to all residents of the city and the region. The Center offers a computer room with access to Russian-language databases of dictionaries and encyclopedias, modern entertainment system with a satellite TV, allowing you to view Russian-language news and cultural channels, a library, a collection of audio books and videos on teaching the Russian language, video tours at the best museums.
The same day the Alexander Solzhenitsyn Russian Émigré House granted 300 books to the Kropyvnitsky Central Library (Nikolayev).
The library has created a collection “Russian Way”, which is constantly replenished with new copies. It is based on artistic, historical and journalistic, philosophical, memoir editions, dedicated to the activity of public, cultural and political figures of the Russian emigration.
Besides, the office of the “Russian World” foundation opened at the library.
