Information security: Survey revealed which country of Europe shows the greatest caution using the Internet
Authors of the survey "Eurobarometer", held under the auspices of the European Commission with the participation of 27 thousand of respondents in all EU countries, came to the conclusion that among Europeans it is the Swedish users who are the most cautious when using Internet.
59% of the residents of the kingdom declared that they did not trust the Internet their personal information for fear of becoming a victim of cyber criminals, hunting for personal data. In Europe, in general, only 37% of Internet users have similar concerns.
If for the last year, 53% of Europeans did not change their passwords on their web-sites, among the Swedes this figure was 40%.
"These crimes influence on our behavior in the Internet. In social networks, we have less information exchange, abandon online purchases and perform daily activities. The organized crime earns big money in cyberspace, but the biggest damage that it causes - is fear", - said Swedish euro Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom, who is responsible for security matters in the European Commission.
In their report, the authors of "Eurobarometer" noted, that a good knowledge of threats and risks was a pledge of safe usage of the opportunities offered by the Internet. In other words, if you are forewarned – you are forearmed. Most of those who feel themselves safety, carrying out through the network banking operations and making purchase, are well-informed about the dangers lurking in the Internet.
