Exhibitions: Unique “Treasures of Sovereign Military Order of Malta” exhibited in the Moscow Kremlin

July 8, the exhibition “The Treasures of Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Nine centuries of service to faith and charity” opened at the Museum of the Moscow Kremlin. For the first time in Russia, the Moscow Kremlin Museums and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta present a unique exhibition featuring the prominent monuments of the nine hundred years old history of the existence of the Order from over the world.

Rare exhibits from the museum and archival collections of Italy, Malta, France and Russia will introduce viewers the main stages of the history of the Order. The exhibition includes original masterpieces of world art that are directly related to the history of the Order, order certificates, genealogical tree of the knights and other archival documents, clothes and costumes of the Maltese Knights.

About 200 exhibits from the museums of Russia (museums of Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Tsarskoe Selo, Peterhof and Pavlovsk), Italy, Malta and France are selected for the exhibition.

The exhibition will run from July 6 till September 9 in one of the Chambers of Patriarch’s palaces of the Moscow Kremlin.
