World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) of Russia launches a new project: interactive maps of the forest resources of Primorsky Krai, Khabarovsk Krai and Jewish Autonomous Oblast.
With the help of these maps any Internet user can obtain information on the status and the use of forests of the Far Eastern federal district, protecting forests and protected areas (PAs), nut-fishing zones, and rare species of plants and animals, and other values of forests of the Far East of Russia.
Interactive maps are available through web-resources: Primorsky Krai, Khabarovsk Krai and YEO.
Online resource is designed for forestry workers, state regulatory agencies, tenants of the forest Fund, timber importers and exporters, public environmental organizations, as well as all residents of the Russian Far East who are interested in the rational use of forest resources.
The proposed interactive maps of forest resources of Primorsky, Khabarovsk Krai and Jewish Autonomous Region are the beginning of the project of WWF-Russia to create web of forests’ maps for all subjects of the Far East Federal District.
