Memory of Russia: International historical-documentary exhibition “No wonder the whole Russia remembers…” Unique documents from Russian and foreign archives” in Moscow

August 31, 2012 a press conference in connection with the discovery of historical-documentary exhibition “No wonder the whole Russia remembers…” is taken place in the conference hall of Federal Archive (Moscow). Unique documents from Russian and foreign archives and presentation of collections of documents "Feats of soldiers and officers of the Russian army at the Battle of Borodino" and "Don Cossacks in the Patriotic War of 1812 and foreign campaigns of 1813-1814", "Fighting Calendar-diary of the Patriotic War of 1812" (the author is a military archivist N. P. Polikarpov), reissued in 2011, the album "Jubilee celebrations to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the War of 1812 at the highest presence " as well as interactive sign" documents on the history of the Patriotic War of 1812", which will be posted on the day of the presentation at the industrial web site "Archives of Russia".

The events are prepared in honor of the bicentennial anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812 and foreign campaigns of the Russian Army in 1813-1814 and devoted to feats of the peoples of Russia to defend their homeland and brought the glory of Russian arms.

The exhibition "No wonder the whole Russia remembers ..." consists of seven sections:

 - Events from the beginning of the Patriotic War of 1812 and up to the Battle of Borodino.

- The Battle of Borodino.

- The events of the Patriotic War of 1812 on the Battle of Borodino and the expulsion of the Grand Army of Russia.

- Partisan movement during the Patriotic War of 1812

- Foreign campaigns in 1813-1814.

- Participants of the Patriotic War of 1812 and foreign campaigns.

- The perpetuation of the memory of the Patriotic War of 1812 and celebration in 1912 its 100th birthday.

A significant part of the documents is exhibited for the first time, including a letter of Alexander I to the chairman of the State Council General Field Marshal Count N. I. Saltykov to war with France, the edict of the Emperor Alexander I to the Commander of the 2nd Western Army General of Infantry Prince Bagration expressing regret that he had received the wound, the edict of Emperor Alexander I to chief General-Field Marshal of all Russian army Prince Mikhail Golyshev-Kutuzov - demanding to explain the reasons for the abandonment of Moscow, handwritten memoirs D. V. Davydov of the Patriotic War of 1812, the formulary lists of generals, officers and soldiers of the Russian army, reports of the Moscow mayor N. I. Guchkov to the Home secretary of the organization in Moscow of the Military History Museum to commemorate the Patriotic War of 1812

At the opening of the exhibition are invited members of the State Commission on the preparation for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Russia's victory in the Patriotic War of 1812, after Belarus, Ukraine, Finland, France, etc.
