History of Russia: Council of the oldest cities of Slavic countries is held in Rostov Veliky

In Rostov Veliky (the Yaroslavl region) opens the first stage of celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the origin of the Russian statehood and the 1150th anniversary from the day of the city foundation.

In the framework of the business program, August 31, a Cathedral of the oldest cities of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus will be held. A key topic of the discussion will be the history and strategy of the development of the oldest cities in Russia as a source of the Russian statehood.

In the Cathedral of the oldest cities of the brotherly Slavic nations, held in Rostov for the second year in a row, take part the oldest city in Belarus, Polotsk, which celebrated in May of this year the 1150th anniversary, one of the oldest cities in Ukraine - Chernigov, official delegations Murom Izborsk, Staraya Ladoga, Kostroma, Veliky Novgorod, Smolensk, Suzdal, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Uglich, representatives of scientific and creative intelligentsia from Finland, Italy and Lithuania.
