Vologda residents can see unique images depicting the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Patriotic War of 1812. They are presented at the exhibition which opened in the Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery. More than one hundred images are brought from Moscow and Saint-Petersburg archives.

Alla Anishina, the head of the storage of the Monastery, said: “These are even more rare photos of the witnesses of the War of 1812. It is known that at that time it was managed to find 25 people who were witnesses of the war with Napoleon. The youngest of them was 110 years old”.
