
Memory of Russia: Theatrical and historical reconstruction “A day in the life of the medieval city” is held in Saratov
The Saratov regional museum of local lore in September is planning the organization of a large-scale theatrical reconstruction “One day in the life of the medieval city”.
The event will be held in the north-western district of the Uvek settlement in a picturesque corner of nature, with a magnificent view of the Volga.
The picture of life of the Golden Uvek will be recreated. In the XIII-XIV centuries it was one of the largest centers of the Golden Horde in Lower Volga region. The multinational population, who professed different religions, does live here, and science, commerce and crafts are also developed.
Since 2005 the Saratov regional museum of local lore holds annual archaeological excavations at the Uvek settlement – the most ancient town, known on the territory of the Saratov region. These studies open new page in the history of the study of the famous archaeological site.
A theatrical and historical reconstruction “One day in the life of the medieval city” will be held in the framework of the science-practical seminar "Study, preservation and promotion of archaeological heritage of the Uvek settlement". It is assumed that this event will bring together the best artists of historical reconstruction of Russia.
