Russian culture abroad: Russian center opened in Sevastopol

August 16, 2012 a Russian Center was opened on the basis of the Admiral Lazarev Maritime library in Sevastopol.

In 2012, the Maritime Library marks the 190th anniversary of the foundation and it is nonrandom that the leadership of "Russkiy Mir Foundation" decided on the opening here of the Russian Center.

More than thousand new titles of books, magazines and other printing products entered the Russian Center. Specialists of the Russkiy Mir Foundation picked up an excellent multimedia collection of sound recordings, motion pictures, representing a classic of Soviet and Russian cinema. In the near future the terminals will be connected to the Russian Center of the Russian information system "Integrum", which allows getting any information from Russia in direct access.

Consul General of the Russian Federation in Simferopol Vladimir Andreyev emphasized the importance of opening of the Russian center and its influence on the development of Russian-Ukrainian relations.
