Russian history: Exhibition timed to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Air Force in Chelyabinsk
In the Chelyabinsk local museum opened an exhibition, timed to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Air Force. This is a joint project with colleagues of the Museum of Aviation of the Chelyabinsk Red Banner Military Aviation Institute of Navigators (CHVVULN).
In total, about 100 exhibits are presented at the stands: photographs, documents, models of airplanes of 30-40s of last century, the personal belongings of military pilots. In particular, a leather helmet and a tablet, navigation bar, a sextant, flight book with records of accidents and "combat" notes. Here you can see cameras for aerial reconnaissance of enemy targets, which were used during World War II on all types of Soviet aircrafts. Modern artifacts are placed nearby – a flying costume of the sample of the year 2009, a set of protective equipment and oxygen equipment. There is an emergency and on-board recorder - the so-called "black box".
Here are also postcards, medals, badges, as well as personal belongings of pilots of the South Ural, Heroes of the Soviet Union, Gayaz Baymurzin and Vasily Lutsenko. However, photographs make up a large part of the exhibition. Some of them are in the collections of local history museum, and at one time it was included in a five-volume edition, dedicated to the Chelyabinsk region. These archival photographs are of military and post-war period. Another part, depicting modern aircraft working days of pilots, is provided by Elephant publishing house.
