Russian regions: International festival “Our ancient capitals” in Kostroma

International festival of the folk art “Our ancient capitals” is held at three different grounds from August 3 till August 5: in Kostroma, Galich and Parfenievo.

According to organizers, about 600 people came to the Kostroma region from cities, which have played an important role in the history of the country. Among them are Kiev, Vladimir, Tver, Yaroslavl, and Nizhny Novgorod. Kostroma was selected for the festival as one of the oldest princely capitals. 

According to organizers, the objective of the festival is to demonstrate the living culture of the Slavic peoples. The program includes concerts, exhibition of folk crafts with the sale of products of craftsmen, and different workshops.

The best Russian historical films, as well as charity concerts for veterans, will be held in the House of folk art in Kostroma.
