Information technology and Russian regions: Katun Nature Reserve is presented in 3D panoramas

A virtual tour of the most beautiful places of the Katun Nature Reserve in the Altai Mountains, in particular the famous Multinskiye lakes can now take visitors at the Reserve web site through the created 3D-panoramas.

Photo panoramas at the web site of Katun Nature Reserve - are panoramic pictures projected on a cylinder, which can be seen by shifting the point of view. Thus, nature lovers can see the beautiful scenery of Katun Reserve: Multinskoye and Poperechnoyes lakes, waterfalls and many others.

Recording and processing of photo panoramas took several months but two trips on the territory of Multinskoye site have been committed. As a result, more than 30 planned photo panoramas on the map of Katun Reserve it was left only 10 of the best in the opinion of the expert committee.

The Katun Biosphere Reserve was founded on 25 July 1991. It is located in Ust-Koksinsky district of the Altai Republic in the most mountainous part of Altai - the Katun Range. The Reserve area is 151,000 hectares. Adjacent to the Reserve is Belukha Mountain (4.506 km) - the highest point of Siberia, a World Natural Heritage Site. The Reserve is situated at an altitude ranging from 1.3 to 3.28 thousand meters. In 2000, the Katun Reserve included in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves of UNESCO "Man and Biosphere".
