Society and culture: Outdoor exposition about the War of 1812 opened in Saint-Petersburg
The Russian Museum has opened in Saint-Petersburg the exposition dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812.
15 reproductions of paintings devoted to the War of 1812 were exhibited at the Quay. Among them there are the paintings of Kiprensky, Ulrich, Babaev, Coleman and other artists. Reproductions are inserted into the frames, copying originals. In addition to the paintings on the theme of the Patriotic War of 1812, on the Quay are placed copies of paintings by Repin, Ivan Aivazovsky, Bryullov and others - only 43 reproductions.
All the pictures are equipped with QR-codes that can be read by mobile phone and can help to get information about the picture.
The exposition "The Masterpieces of the Russian Museum in the Streets" was prepared within the project "Museum Mile". The project is organized by "Art Tour", which had previously arranged a similar outdoor exhibition in Moscow. After completion of the exposure reproductions will be given to children's educational institutions.
