Information technology and museums: Accounting books and inventory of the Palace and Estate Museum “Gatchina” are translated into electronic form

“Electronic Archive” Corporation has completed the digitization and retro-conversion of accounting books and inventories of museum collections of the Palace and Estate Museum "Gatchina".

In the framework of the project fifty accounting books and a collection of inventories of collections of the Palace and Estate Museum "Gatchina" are digitized, as well as the indexing of books and records among 60 and 23 inventories to thousands of records respectively is provided. The scanning was conducted by the “Electronic Archive” Corporation on the territory of the Museum Reserve using contact scanner book "Elara PlanSkan" series "C". This equipment is specially designed for safe and high-quality digitization of books, including thick spine.

The resulting electronic images and data bases will allow the museum to optimize current and scientific activity, accelerate to find information about museum objects, and also to preserve the original documents as well as an appeal to them will be kept to a minimum.
